Last week I took myself off to The Hilton Fair here in Singapore, as a customer rather than a stallholder. There were as many vendors as you could fit into the Ballroom and good mix of stalls, including clothing, jewellery, handbags, paintings, basketware and even Tupperware.
I met with some really friendly stallholders who have allowed me to feature them on my blog. I took a few snaps and will write a short introduction for each of them in turn.
Prisha Art Creations
The first lady I met was Poonam Sodhani, who owns Prisha Art Creations. Her stall was very pretty and fresh looking which showed off her air-dried clay creations perfectly. Poonam named her business after her young daughter Prisha, whom she says is her inspiration to work!
Poonam has a whole range of art and craft forms, from floral displays to photo frames to jewellery. Her items are perfect for special occasions such as weddings, baby showers and christenings as the displays can be kept as a keepsake after the event, unlike real flowers. You can even see some baby booties in the above picture, so cute!
If you would like to see more of Poonam’s range, including close-up photos and details of her custom made service and classes held in Singapore, please visit her Facebook Page here.
Shelby Dillon Fine Art
Shelby arrived in Singapore about the same time as me, three years ago. Originally from South Carolina, Shelby was raised in the French Quarter of New Orleans which had a huge influence on her oil paintings you see today. On relocating to Singapore with her husband, she continued to paint and her bold colours capture the Asian culture in a striking way.
If you would like more information on Shelby’s work, including details for commissions, please go to her website www.shelbydillon.com. Shelby also sells her work, both originals and prints, through her Etsy shop. The postage rates are very reasonable!
More vendors to be showcased in future posts!
