Japan Couture 2012

I was lucky enough to receive two tickets to see a fashion show held last night at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.  Japan Couture 2012 is part of the second edition (Haute Couture Week) of Women’s Fashion Week, featuring the latest prêt-à-porter collections from international labels.

I took my daughter along with me as my official photographer (armed with iphone) and knowledgeable one regarding fashion.  I wasn’t sure if you could actually take snaps in the show, but knew we would get some good ones of the location anyway, seeing as it is Marina Bay Sands!

I only had tickets for one show, but as we were early we managed to squeeze into the first show too, which was Somarta.  A lovely collection.

During the break there was free Champagne, but it wasn’t very pleasant unfortunately!  However we spotted Kenzo and actually got quite close to him.  We sat in different seats for the second show and we sat directly opposite him (photo op):

The Designer we saw next was Junko  Shimada, who was showcasing her Spring/Summer 2013 collection.   Not a very clear photo this one and as you can see, you had to raise above all the cameras and iphones being bandied about!

When we came out of the show, we walked for a while along the promenade of Marina Bay and managed to catch the light and water show which airs every evening at 9.30pm, a great finish to a fun evening.

The stunning skyline of Singapore!
