antique jewellery worn by the Peranakans

Further to my trip to the Peranakan Museum, way back in September last year, I came across some photos of the jewellery worn by the Peranakans that I took there.  The pieces were behind glass and obviously indoors so I have done my best to present them without too much reflection and have not edited them too much as there are some wonderful shadows cast from the display lights.

Some of the designs could easily be used today, especially the chandelier earrings and the ‘bib’ style necklace.  Fashion always comes around again!
