radiant orchid

The Pantone colour of the Year has been declared as Radiant Orchid (if you didn’t already know!) which is a deep purply mauve, quite a difficult colour to wear I think, but it’s a wonderful colour in flowers.

I have taken quite a number of photos of this coloured orchid while I have lived in Singapore, both at the Botanic Gardens and Gardens By the Bay, so here’s a collage of my ‘radiant orchids’!

Great photos as per usual Cath, I love orchids and it would be lovely seeing them growing naturally, but we have to be satisfied with pot plants. IKEA are usually very good at getting good plants and I usually have at least one plant from there. I agree it is a difficult colour to wear, but so nice if it suits you. I think I would be looking for contrasting or neutral colours for jewellery as I think it would be hard to match with clothing, but if you want to accessorise with it then definitely amethyst beads or berry coloured beads. I’m off now to take a look to see if I’ve got anything I can make. Take care. Linda x

There’s usually some mauve or purple beads lurking around which you couldn’t match up previously, isn’t there? I think Ikea orchids are some of the best you can buy and affordable too. I don’t buy orchids any more here as they never flower as I always forget to feed them!

Thanks, yes I think a scarf in that colour would be stunning, I’ve also been noticing handbags in different mauve shades while I have been out!. I only have pale lilac shades in my shop at the moment but am looking through my bead stash for darker colours!

I would love to hear your thoughts...
